Dear Hillside Family,
One of the most outstanding features of our Hillside ministry that people continue to appreciate (and comment on!) is our amazing kids’ programs. Aren’t we blessed in this regard? Countless children and families are being positively influenced by all that’s happening in and through Sonshine Kids Academy, Waumba Land, KidZone, and PowerUP! throughout the year as well as huge special events like VBS, Trunk or Treat, and the Easter Family Experience. Incredible! Well, this weekend we kick off our first Christmas in our new auditorium in momentous fashion as the kids take the stage to present their musical “All About That Baby“. It’s going to an unforgettable experience!
Friends, I’ve listened to the musical, seen the sets, and been around the production team enough to know there’s a real buzz about the musical. I also know that our church is always energized whenever the kids take the stage. There’s no doubt that we’re in for a real treat and what we hear and experience will also be a wonderful way to get us all focused on the real reason for the season. So, again, you don’t want to miss this weekend. Just saying…
Now about this weekend… Make sure you don’t forget about the 3 service times! Because of the large crowds who attend the kids’ musical every year, we are once again offering a Saturday night option. Thus, you have 3 options to attend church (identical services at all 3) including Sat. at 6:00pm, Sunday at 9:00 or 11:00am. By the way, the Saturday night option means that if you’ve ever wanted to sleep in on a Sunday morning this could be your chance to go to church on Saturday night.
Don’t forget, too, that as a church with a strong invitational culture this weekend provides a great opportunity to invite a friend, neighbor, or another family member who might be open to a Christmas invitation. Like the shepherds at the first Christmas, it’s our joy to share the Good News of Christmas with others.
Hope to see you this weekend… Can’t wait to see how the Lord is going to work in our hearts and lives. I’m also looking forward to sharing some timely thoughts which are relevant for the season. Exciting times!
