Dear Hillside Family,

I hope you’ve heard the wonderful news by now. The delay is over and we’re closer than ever before to breaking ground on a new auditorium. Imagine! And the final step takes place next Tues. night.

Mike Hayes, our Campaign Manager, made the exciting announcement last Sunday during our memorable Mother’s Day services. And it’s my great joy to invite you to “save the date” and plan to be here with us on this historic night next Tues, May 19th.  Doors open at 6:30 with an ice cream social (everyone is welcome and everything is provided – just show up!), then the meeting begins at 7pm.

Consistent with the positive, engaging culture of business meetings that we’re known for at Hillside, this meeting will be very informative.  Not a waste of your time! A team of presenters will provide you all the latest updates on the building project, construction costs, project timeline, etc. as well as an overall financial overview as we look ahead.

In recent days, we received word from the Baptist Foundation that our loan application has been approved (fabulous news!) and now the ONLY REMAINING REQUIREMENT is a congregational vote of support. This is one of the important reasons why it’s so important for you to attend this special meeting on Tuesday night. By attending it’s a way of staying engaged in the Imagine project, showing you’re “All In”, and also enabling us to fulfill all the legal requirements necessary per our bylaws to move forward on this much-needed expansion project.  Plus, it’s going to be a fun, momentous night that you don’t want to miss! For your convenience, you can sign up now Imagine Meeting

The Board of Elders has called this special meeting and are recommending two motions on the building and financing of the project that requires your approval. Through this expansion, we not only will make room for more by building a new 500 seat auditorium (truly exciting!), but it will also free up some much-needed existing space to accommodate our growing ministry needs. Thus, on behalf of the elders, Imagine team, and staff, I want to thank you in advance for putting this Tues. night on your schedule. It REALLY means a lot.  Together, let’s keep the momentum going!

And speaking of momentum… This Sunday is shaping up to be yet another fantastic Sunday of inspiring worship, warm fellowship, and practical teaching for you and your family. Award-winning artist Fraser Campbell and his band (return guests) from Victoria, BC will be leading us in worship plus there will be many positive highlights to share, relevant teaching to experience, and spiritual direction to deepen your relationship with God.

Hope you enjoy the holiday weekend. I love being your pastor and am grateful for your continued faithfulness to our shared vision of being “a leading Acts 2 lighthouse church with a premiere family ministry in the region”. Best days ahead!

Blessings,

Pastor Jerry
