Power UP!
Power UP! is Hillside’s mid-week program for kids aged 4 through Grade 5! It is high-energy fun mixed with teaching time and small group time on Wednesday nights from 6:15-7:30pm!
Children are asked to register in the Lower Lobby and then proceed into HillTOWN where they will be greeted by their Small Group Leaders. They are grouped by age and gender to allow for activities to be tailored to their preferences by their leaders. Kids are engaged in a high energy time of worship where they sing and dance to songs they know and love!
Children from age 4 to Grade 2 stay in HillTOWN to engage in dynamic teaching time related to the same BIG Idea that is taught on Sunday morning at the 11am service but in a new and relevant way! Children from Grade 3-5 are brought to another area to engage in a presentation of the Bible teaching that is appropriate for their age group!
Those aged 4 to Grade 2 are then directed to their classrooms where they are involved in activities and games that help to engage them in helping them to apply the BIG Idea and Biblical principles such as Courage, Honesty, Honor, Integrity, Kindness and Love into their every day lives.
Kids in Grades 3-5 are engaged in skill building, fun activities that help cultivate relationships with other kids their age and their Small Group Leaders. Growing these Christian friendships will encourage kids to seek each other out in other areas of their lives whether at basketball practice, school, gymnastics classes or even in their neighbourhood and help connect them to each other for life!
Each week we encourage kids to bring their friends and each month on the last Wednesday night, we have a theme night where kids get to dress up or wear something wild and wacky! We wrap up the month long look at a BIG idea and have a lot of fun doing it! Kids can bring their friends and have a great time!
