Dear Hillside Family,

Thank God for Christmas! The birth of Jesus marked an absolute turning point in history and it’s the reason for our hope and joy today.  In fact, Jesus’ birthday is so amazing that we not only celebrate it for a day, but for the entire Advent season.  Now that’s pretty special!

Friends, God is working in our midst and there is much to thank Him for. For the second year in a row we had over 1,000 people attend the incredible kids musical last weekend and last night our SKA team put on a fantastic Christmas party for the children and their parents. In addition, last night I was blessed to host the first of two “All In” classes over the next few days. What a privilege for us to partner together with the Lord who is truly favoring our ministry.

During this Christmas there are lots of opportunities for us to serve, invite, and participate in transformational events. And there’s also the opportunity to share in the sorrow and grief of many Hillside families who have lost dear loved ones in recent days as well as during this past year. Thankfully, we can experience the peace that Jesus, our Prince of Peace, gives us as we journey through life’s greatest sorrows.

I hope you’re planning to be with us this Sunday. Parents, your children in K-Grade 5 don’t want to miss KidZone this week as they enjoy their special “All Rapped Up” Christmas experience. Also, the Vibe resumes for students in Grades 6-12 at 11am. And, the 3-4 years from Waumba Land, will be taking the stage in both services to share some exciting Christmas songs with us. It will be memorable! We also have will enjoy a taste of Christmas worship, communion, and I’ll be sharing a message entitled “What Are You (Not) Doing For Christmas?” Feeling stressed? Or wearied already by the holiday hustle? If so, this Sunday will be the encouragement you’re looking for as we seek to keep Christ (what’s most important) in Christmas.

Thanks, everyone, for your faithfulness in the work we together for God’s glory. It’s been an amazing year. Let’s be sure to close out 2015 in a way that expresses our heartfelt worship and devotion to the One who gave His all for us.

 Much Peace and Joy,

 Pastor Jerry
