Dear Hillside Family,
As you may recall, my “All In” enews last week was entitled “3 Transformational Events in 5 Days”. On behalf of our team, I was excited to share with you the keen anticipation we all had for the next few days ahead.
Well, looking back after an absolutely groundbreaking Sunday on Mental Health, followed by the buzz of our historic Vision Night on Tues. and then Glow “Trunk or Treat” Night on Wedn (an amazing 600 kids and their parents turned out – imagine!), I’ve decided to call today’s enews “Exceeded Expectations”. Wow, did God ever favour our collective efforts (and prayers!) in a big way! “Not to us, but to His name be the glory” (Ps. 115:1).
Think of about it: through these 3 events countless lives were touched; hope was given; and the Good News was shared with scores of people both within and beyond our church family. Friends, God is working and real transformation is happening. And, as was shared on Vision Night, we believe our church’s best days are ahead.
With Sunday coming soon, here’s what’s up… We’ll being diving into the subject of “Emotional Health”. God created our emotions and He cares not only about our mental health. He also cares about our emotional well-being. This, too, is a topic that is often not discussed in the church and yet it has great relevance to each of our lives. I’ll be sharing a message about “Managing Your Emotions”. We’re also looking forward to experiencing more God exalting worship, communion, and warm fellowship together.
One other timely reminder… In seeking to fulfill our mission of “leading people to become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ” we strategically provide Discipleship classes a few times each year. Guess what? Our fall offerings begin this Sunday! Pastor Dave is leading the “Serve” class this Sunday at 9am in the HSM Café. Interested? And, if that’s not convenient, you can take it on this Wednesday night, Nov. 4th, 6:30pm. Here’s the “Serve” link to register for either time. Also, I’ll be leading the “Grow” class this Wedn. night, Nov. 4th, at 6:30pm and again next Sunday, Nov. 8th, at 9am. Interested? Here’s the “Grow” link to sign up for one of those times. These classes are designed to give you the tools and insights to flourish in a growing relationship with Jesus.
Thanks again for your continued partnership. By attending, serving, giving, inviting and praying we are all making a difference together. It remains a fantastic joy and privilege to serve together with you!
Hope to see you on Sunday.
PS Don’t forget to turn your clocks back 1 hour on Saturday night. If you forget, you might arrive early and the coffee won’t be ready. J
