Dear Hillside Family,
This Sunday will be historic. Faithful and passionate about our mission, we have honoured God in recent months by “making room for more”. Exciting! However, as we look ahead to a new reality in our new finished and furnished auditorium, we will take some time this Sunday to close out a cherished past.
Together, we will look back with gratitude for the countless ways over the past 42 years that God has brought incredible moments of hope, joy, and transformation to thousands of people in our current auditorium. To God be the glory, great things He has done. I hope you’re planning to join us – you’ll be glad you did!
Sunday will not only be the final service there, but it’s also the final message in our “Rooted” series. I’ll be speaking about the importance of being the kind of church that is “Rooted in Prayer”. In Col. 4:2-3 Paul says, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message”. I can’t wait to share some fresh insights with you about the power and practicality of prayer.
Then, as a follow up to the message, I’d like to invite you now to plan on attending a special prayer event with the staff this Sunday night at 6pm in the new auditorium. It would mean a lot for you to attend. (And, if you can’t make it then, there will be a prayer time on Monday morning at 9:30). Friends, there is so much to pray for before our first service in the new auditorium on March 20th! In fact, did you know that last Sunday literally hundreds of names (363) were confidentially submitted of people being prayed for that they would be positively impacted and touched through the Alpha initiative and upcoming Easter or Grand Opening events? Yes, imagine!
In closing, I thank God daily for the continued joy of our shared ministry. These are momentous times, God is working, and the best days are ahead. Be assured that your service, generosity, smiles, and prayers are making a difference. Let’s keep the momentum going.
Warmly in Him,
